Our review

A light, fragrance-free water-gel serum with 5% niacinamide, rice ferment filtrate, prebiotics and a sebum-regulating acid/diol complex, aimed at oily and blemish-prone skin. The formula is short and sensible; the very positive feedback comes mainly from the brand’s own shop, and results on breakouts will vary from person to person.

Packaging and what the product is

The basiclab.shop photo shows a small white glass-look bottle with a green label and a dropper with a pink-lilac bulb, next to a green carton reading “Serum zmniejszające niedoskonałości z niacynamidem 5%, prebiotykiem 5% i filtratem z wody ryżowej” and “Redukcja i zwężenie” (reduction and tightening), marked for day and night use. The bottle holds 30 ml (the brand lists 169.90 zł on its shop).

Ingredient analysis

After water comes Saccharomyces/rice ferment filtrate, a fermented rice ingredient used for a softening, brightening feel. Propanediol and butylene glycol are humectant solvents, and niacinamide (5%) sits fourth. Niacinamide is one of the best-studied cosmetic actives: at 2–5% it has been shown in studies to help with the look of enlarged pores, oiliness, uneven tone and redness, and it is generally well tolerated.

Inulin and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide are prebiotic sugars. Sebacic acid, 10-hydroxydecanoic acid and 1,10-decanediol form a complex marketed for sebum regulation and for calming the look of blemishes; the evidence is mostly supplier data. Caffeine and panthenol add a soothing, slightly toning note, xanthan gum gives the gel texture, and pentylene glycol with hydroxyacetophenone protect the formula instead of classic preservatives. There is no fragrance.

What to watch out for

Niacinamide can occasionally cause temporary flushing, tingling or redness, especially when layered with many other actives; introducing it gradually helps. The serum is not a treatment for acne: persistent or inflamed acne should be assessed by a dermatologist. It contains no sun filters, so daytime use should be paired with sunscreen, especially if you also use exfoliating acids or retinoids. A patch test is sensible for very reactive skin.

What users say

On basiclab.shop the serum showed 4.9/5 from 1,980 purchase-verified reviews (checked 1 Nov 2026), though this is the brand’s own store. Reviewers mention that it applies easily, works well under make-up without pilling and that skin looks calmer and more even; one says no other dermocosmetic improved her blemishes as much. Negative comments were rare in what we read, but we did not find an independent rating site with enough reviews to cross-check.

Who it may suit

People with oily, combination or blemish-prone skin who want a simple, fragrance-free niacinamide serum for morning and evening use. Those with very dry skin may need a richer moisturiser on top, and anyone with active, painful acne should see a professional rather than rely on a serum.
