A white, mascara-style lash conditioner and primer (sold as SOS Lash Booster) built on waxes, paraffin and film formers, with argan oil, panthenol and soy protein as care additions. It is hugely popular as a mascara base; it contains no prostaglandin analogue, and its preservative system includes a formaldehyde releaser and several parabens.

Packaging and what the product is

The official evelinecosmetics.com photo shows a slim black-and-gold tube labelled “SOS Lash Booster” with a mascara-type brush, next to its tall box reading “Argan Oil – multi-purpose eyelash serum 5in1”. The brand describes it as a regenerating serum, lash conditioner and mascara base in one.

Ingredient analysis

The texture comes from water, paraffin, carnauba wax, stearic acid, glyceryl behenate and a beeswax-silicone copolymer, emulsified with triethanolamine stearate and ceteareth-20 – essentially a mascara base without pigment, which is why it goes on white. Argan oil, panthenol, hydrolysed soy protein and sodium hyaluronate are the care ingredients, listed in the second half. There is no fragrance.

What to watch out for

Preservation relies on phenoxyethanol, DMDM hydantoin (a formaldehyde releaser, regulated in the EU), and methyl-, ethyl-, propyl- and butylparaben, plus potassium sorbate. Triethanolamine is an EU-restricted ingredient (Annex III). People with formaldehyde or paraben allergy, or with sensitive eyes, should take note. Unlike many lash ‘growth’ serums, it contains no prostaglandin analogue – reviewers mention this as a reason they chose it.

Most reviewers use it under mascara and praise the precise brush and the way it separates, thickens and lengthens lashes; many also wear it overnight and say lashes feel softer and look fuller. The main complaint is the white colour, which means it cannot double as a clear mascara. Some feel it is a good cosmetic primer but does not change lash growth long-term; a few report stinging.

Who it may suit

People who want a lash primer that conditions as well, and who prefer a product without prostaglandin analogues. Those allergic to formaldehyde releasers or parabens, contact-lens wearers with sensitive eyes, and anyone hoping for real lash growth should look elsewhere.
