Our review

A fragrance-free, alcohol-free hydrating toner with niacinamide, ceramides and antioxidants for oily and combination skin. It has a large and mostly positive review base; praise centres on a non-drying, non-stinging feel and the look of smaller pores, while price is the most common complaint.

Packaging and what the product is

The image from paulaschoice.pl shows a 190 ml (6.4 fl oz) blue plastic bottle with a frosted cap and a white band reading “Skin Balancing – Oily/Combination”, plus “Pore-Reducing Toner with Niacinamide”. It is a watery, leave-on toner applied after cleansing with a cotton pad or the hands, morning and evening.

Ingredient analysis

After water, glycerin and butylene glycol, Niacinamide is the fourth ingredient, so it is present in a meaningful amount; it supports the skin barrier and helps even out the look of the skin. A barrier-oriented group follows: sodium PCA, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, three ceramides (NP, AP, EOP), phytosphingosine and cholesterol. Adenosine, chamomile and burdock root extracts, hydrolysed jojoba esters and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative) round it off.

Polysorbate 20 and Oleth-10 act as solubilisers, xanthan gum and carbomer give a slight slip, and the preservative system is phenoxyethanol with ethylhexylglycerin and caprylyl glycol; trisodium EDTA is a chelator. There is no added fragrance and no drying alcohol.

What to watch out for

The formula is gentle overall. Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) belongs to the daisy family, which matters for people with a known allergy to these plants. Niacinamide occasionally causes temporary flushing or tingling in very reactive skin. Note that “pore-reducing” refers to how pores look; no toner changes actual pore size.

What users say

On the brand’s US site the toner averages 4.2/5 from 771 reviews, and on Influenster 4.5/5 from 231 reviews (both checked 30 Oct 2026). Recent reviews describe it as mild, not drying, not stinging, and say pores look smaller and skin feels softer; several are long-term repeat buyers. On Wizaż it has 5/5 from just 2 Polish reviews, both noting calmer, more even-looking skin.

The visible negatives are mainly cost: Polish reviewers called it expensive for a toner, and an Influenster reviewer called it a little pricey. The US rating suggests a share of less satisfied users whose detailed comments we did not see, so expect results to vary.

Who it may suit

Oily, combination or easily congested skin that wants a light, fragrance-free hydrating step rather than an acid toner. Fine for sensitive skin types that tolerate niacinamide; less useful for very dry skin, for which the brand offers a richer toner.
