A plant-oil cream with sea buckthorn oil, shea butter and betulin, without added fragrance. A good fit for those who prefer natural-origin formulas; the oil-rich base may be too much for very oily skin.

Packaging and what the product is

The photo shows a white airless pump bottle next to a white-and-orange box with a sea buckthorn illustration and the claim “99% ingredients of natural origin”. An airless pump limits contact with air and fingers, which suits formulas rich in plant oils. It is a light face cream in a 50 ml size.

Ingredient analysis

After water come grape seed oil and soybean oil, emulsified with sorbitan stearate and sucrose cocoate. Sea buckthorn fruit oil is sixth, followed by shea butter, argan oil and jojoba oil. Soapwort root and aloe leaf extracts, allantoin and vitamin E acetate complete the active part. Betulin, a triterpene from birch bark, is a signature ingredient of the brand.

What to watch out for

There is no added fragrance. The cream is preserved with benzyl alcohol and dehydroacetic acid, both permitted preservatives in the EU; benzyl alcohol is also on the list of fragrance allergens. Sea buckthorn oil is naturally orange-red, and formulas with it can have a warm colour.
