A chemically modified potato starch used to control viscosity.
What it is
Potato starch modified is, according to CosIng, potato starch reacted with haloethylaminodipropionic acid, with a degree of substitution of less than 0.1 per glucose unit. CosIng lists it as a viscosity-controlling agent.
Where it is used

Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The INCI name alone does not describe the type of modification; the CosIng definition specifies it.
Functions
- Viscosity controlling
- Increasing or decreasing the viscosity (thickness) of cosmetics.
EU regulation
This ingredient is not listed in the annexes of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 in the CosIng data.
