Packaging and what the product is

The photo on olaplex.com shows a slim white tube with “OLAPLEX BROWBOND” printed vertically and a white spoolie-type wand beside it. Retailers list it at about 3–3.5 ml. It is applied to the brows once or twice a day as a conditioning serum.

Ingredient analysis

Water, butylene glycol and glycerin form the base, followed by VP/VA copolymer – a film-former that gives light hold, which explains why some users treat it as a brow gel. Next come bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate (Olaplex's bond-building ingredient) and four peptides: palmitoyl pentapeptide-83 amide, acetyl tetrapeptide-3, myristoyl pentapeptide-17 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-20 amide.

Sodium hyaluronate, biotin, panthenol, pantethine, oat kernel extract and red clover flower extract follow in smaller amounts. Preservatives are phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and sorbic/benzoic acid. There is no fragrance and no prostaglandin analogue.

What to watch out for

No fragrance allergens are declared. The preservatives are permitted within EU limits; sensitive skin around the brows can still react, so a patch test is sensible. Keep it away from the eyes.
