The image from polnywarkocz.pl shows a 100 ml amber glass bottle with a black fine-mist sprayer and a cream label with hand-drawn wild flowers and a blue bow: “polny warkocz – Specyfik No 2 – normalizująca wcierka do włosów tłustych” (normalising scalp tonic for oily hair). The brand gives two ways to use it: sprayed on the damp scalp after washing and massaged in without rinsing, or applied at least 30 minutes before washing. Shake before use.

Ingredient analysis

Alcohol denat. is the second ingredient, right after water, so the tonic has a noticeable alcohol content – it helps it dry quickly and feel refreshing. Rosemary leaf water follows, then glycerin and urea as humectants. Lactobacillus/pumpkin fruit ferment filtrate is a mild enzymatic exfoliant, lactic acid adjusts pH and exfoliates lightly, and polyglyceryl-4 caprate solubilises the oil.

Bergamot fruit oil provides the scent, with white willow bark and linden flower extracts as botanicals. Leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate is an antimicrobial ferment used instead of classic preservatives. Citral, limonene and linalool are declared fragrance allergens from the essential oil.

What to watch out for

The high alcohol content can dry or sting an irritated or very dry scalp. Citral, limonene and linalool are allergens worth checking for anyone with fragrance allergy. Bergamot oil may naturally contain furocoumarins that increase sensitivity to sunlight; this is a leave-on product and the label does not state whether a furocoumarin-free grade is used, so a sunny day with a bare parting is worth considering. Keep away from the eyes.

Opinions are almost non-existent. On Wizaż the tonic has a single 4/5 rating (checked 30 Oct 2026), and the brand shop shows no reviews. The reviewer, who received it as a gift, liked the reliable atomiser and found that it neither weighs down nor sticks the hair; the strong alcohol-and-herb smell faded to a herbal note that she found neutral, though she had heard others dislike it.

She did not notice longer-lasting freshness after a month and still needed to wash her hair every other day. One review cannot show how well the product works for others.

Who it may suit

People with an oily scalp who like scalp tonics, tolerate alcohol-based products and want a herbal option. Those with a dry, sensitive or easily irritated scalp, or with fragrance allergies, should look for an alcohol-free formula.
