Our review

A light, mattifying moisturiser for blemish-prone skin that is irritated or dried out by anti-acne treatments, with zinc, bakuchiol and a liquorice-derived soothing agent. On Wizaż it is rated very highly for mattifying, comfort and make-up wear; a few found it not moisturising enough or reacted to it.

Packaging and what the product is

The quoted packshot from bioderma.fr shows a white 30 ml tube with a green “Sébium Sensitive” title and the text “Soin apaisant anti-imperfections / Soothing anti-blemish care – sensitive and weakened acne-prone skin”. It is a leave-on cream for the face, used once or twice a day.

Ingredient analysis

After water and glycerin comes Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, a porous powder that absorbs sebum and gives the mattifying effect, together with a silicone elastomer powder (vinyl dimethicone/methicone silsesquioxane crosspolymer). Light emollients – coco-caprylate/caprate and caprylic/capric triglyceride – and arachidyl and behenyl alcohols form the cream.

Zinc Gluconate is high on the list for its sebum-regulating reputation. Glycyrrhetinic acid (from liquorice) is a soothing agent, Bakuchiol is a plant-derived molecule often used as a gentle retinol alternative, and Laminaria ochroleuca and Ginkgo biloba extracts and tocopherol add antioxidant support. Mannitol, xylitol, rhamnose and fructooligosaccharides are Bioderma’s skin-ecology sugars.

What to watch out for

The cream contains sodium metabisulfite, an antioxidant from the sulfite family to which a small number of people are sensitive, and parfum (last in our INCI list). One Wizaż reviewer reported strong itching within minutes of applying it – patch-testing is sensible for very reactive skin. It does not contain exfoliating acids, so it pairs easily with treatment products.

What users say

On Wizaż, Sébium Sensitive averages 4.7/5 from 160 ratings (checked 30 Oct 2026). Reviewers like its light texture, fast absorption, long-lasting matte finish, the way it holds make-up and powder, and that it does not clog or irritate; several say redness from breakouts calmed while using it and many repurchase. Some of the reviews come from Wizaż’s product-testing club.

Negatives are few: one person found it not moisturising enough, some note a slightly sweet scent, and one reviewer had a strong itching reaction and stopped using it.

Who it may suit

Oily, combination and blemish-prone skin – especially when it is sensitised by drying treatments – that wants a matte, lightweight moisturiser. Very dry skin will probably need something richer.
