Our review

A fragrance-free, gently foaming face and body wash with salicylic acid, niacinamide and ceramides, designed for rough, bumpy skin. It is very well rated in Poland and the UK; the main drawbacks users mention are price per use and, for some, a slightly stripping feel.

Packaging and what the product is

The quoted packshot from cerave.pl shows the white 236 ml pump bottle with a light-blue band reading “SA Wygładzający Żel do Mycia” (SA Smoothing Cleanser). It is a clear gel that lathers lightly and is used on the face or the body, then rinsed off. Note that the INCI in our database matches the North American version; the EU version on cerave.pl additionally lists gluconolactone and sodium methyl cocoyl taurate.

Ingredient analysis

The cleansing base is mild: cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine (an amphoteric surfactant) and sodium lauroyl sarcosinate (an amino-acid-type surfactant), with glycerin as humectant. Niacinamide sits in fifth place. Salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that dissolves in sebum and helps loosen dead skin, appears in the second half of the list – a cleanser’s short contact time also limits its effect.

The barrier-support set typical of CeraVe follows: ceramides NP, AP and EOP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine, plus hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and cholecalciferol (vitamin D). Carbomer and xanthan gum thicken it; sodium benzoate, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin preserve it; disodium and tetrasodium EDTA are chelators.

What to watch out for

Salicylic acid is regulated in EU cosmetics, with concentration limits and a ban on use in products for children under three (shampoos excepted) – the label carries the corresponding warning. Combined with other exfoliants or retinoids, it can cause dryness or irritation. The formula is fragrance-free.

What users say

Wizaż shows 4.5/5 from 228 ratings and LOOKFANTASTIC shows about 4.5/5 from 787 reviews for the 236 ml size (both checked 30 Oct 2026). Many reviewers use it on both face and body and report smoother skin, including on rough patches and small bumps on the arms and legs, a fragrance-free and non-irritating feel and no tightness; several with oily or combination skin say it cleans well.

Recurring negatives on Wizaż are poor value – especially when used on the whole body – and a relatively high price. On LOOKFANTASTIC a few users found it slightly stripping or said they cannot use it every day on sensitive skin.

Who it may suit

Normal, oily, combination or rough, bumpy skin on the face or body that tolerates a mild BHA. Very dry or reactive skin may prefer to alternate it with a non-exfoliating cleanser.
