Our review

A fragrance-free foaming gel cleanser for normal to oily skin that pairs mild amphoteric and amino-acid surfactants with niacinamide, three ceramides and cholesterol. It is one of the most-reviewed cleansers on Polish sites and rated very highly, though most reviews were written about an earlier EU formula.

Packaging and what the product is

The cerave.com photo shows a white pump bottle with a teal diagonal band, black “CeraVe” logo and the words “Foaming Facial Cleanser – For Normal to Oily Skin”, plus a small “oil control” tag. The listed size for this entry is 236 ml. The clear gel lathers into a light foam and is dosed with the pump.

Ingredient analysis

The washing base is cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine (a mild amphoteric surfactant), sodium lauroyl sarcosinate and sodium methyl cocoyl taurate (amino-acid-type anionics), with glycerin and propanediol as humectants. PEG-150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate and carbomer thicken. Niacinamide appears early, followed by ceramide NP, AP and EOP, cholesterol and phytosphingosine – the brand’s standard lipid trio, present in small amounts as expected in a rinse-off product. Preservation uses sodium benzoate, phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin; no fragrance is listed.

What to watch out for

There is no parfum and no essential oil, which is helpful for reactive skin. As with any foaming cleanser, some very dry or compromised skins may still feel tight. The ceramides and niacinamide are rinsed off, so their contribution is modest. The Polish Wizaż page lists an older formula built on coco-betaine and sodium cocoyl glycinate, so experiences there may not match the current recipe exactly.

What users say

On Wizaż the cleanser had 4.7/5 from 830 ratings, with 82% saying they would buy it again (checked 31 Oct 2026). Typical praise: thorough but gentle cleansing without tightness, no scent, a single pump being enough, and long-lasting large bottles; one detailed review recommends it alongside acne treatments. Critical reviews are mostly about expectations – some hoped it would visibly calm breakouts and found it simply a basic everyday wash.

Who it may suit

Adults and teenagers with normal, combination or oily skin who want an unscented, uncomplicated daily cleanser. Those with very dry skin may prefer a cream or oil cleanser instead.
