Our review
A 100 ml nappy-area cream from Uriage’s baby line, built as a silicone-rich water-in-oil emulsion with polydecene, squalane and plant sterols rather than zinc oxide. Public reviews are very few; its preservative system includes diazolidinyl urea, a formaldehyde releaser, which some parents will want to know about.

Packaging and what the product is
The uriage.com photo shows a blue 100 ml tube with the Uriage Eau Thermale logo, a small cartoon bear and flowers, and the names “Bébé – 1er Change” and “1st Change cream”. It is applied at each nappy change on clean, dry skin. The ingredient list reviewed here comes from Open Beauty Facts and may not match the newest batch.
Ingredient analysis
Water, hydrogenated polydecene and octyldodecanol form the base, emulsified with cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 dimethicone; stearyl dimethicone and dimethicone add a water-repellent film. Squalane and rapeseed sterols are the lipid-replenishing actives. Butylene glycol and glycerin hydrate, PVP and polyquaternium-51 are film formers, and magnesium sulfate stabilises the emulsion. There is no zinc oxide and no fragrance. Preservation: chlorphenesin, diazolidinyl urea and o-cymen-5-ol.
What to watch out for
Diazolidinyl urea is a formaldehyde releaser permitted in the EU within limits; under EU rules adopted in 2022, products releasing formaldehyde above a low threshold must say so on the label. Formaldehyde releasers are a known cause of contact allergy, which matters on a baby’s frequently covered skin. Persistent or worsening nappy rash should be checked by a doctor or pharmacist.
What users say
Very few opinions were available: on Redcare Pharmacie (France) the 100 ml tube had 5/5 from 4 ratings (checked 31 Oct 2026), with one written review. That parent used it together with Uriage’s liniment and said their baby’s bottom stayed free of redness, soft and well moisturised. We could not find other detailed public reviews of this exact product to read.
Who it may suit
Parents looking for a fragrance-free, silicone-based barrier cream for routine nappy changes. Families who prefer zinc oxide creams or want to avoid formaldehyde releasers should compare alternatives.
