Packaging and what the product is

The photo (from Open Beauty Facts) shows the 500 ml white pump bottle with a green cap and a green label: “Aveeno Cream – moisturising cream for dry and sensitive skin”, with a note that it is also suitable for babies from 3 months. Aveeno sells the same cream in tubes; the pump bottle is the family-size format.

Ingredient analysis

Glycerin is the second ingredient and the main humectant. Distearyldimonium Chloride is a cationic emulsifier/conditioning agent that gives Aveeno creams their soft, non-greasy slip. Isopropyl palmitate, Paraffinum Liquidum, cetyl alcohol, dimethicone, paraffin and Cera Microcristallina form the protective, emollient part.

Avena Sativa kernel flour – colloidal oatmeal, the brand’s signature ingredient – follows, together with allantoin. Sodium chloride adjusts the texture, BHT protects the oils from oxidation and benzyl alcohol is the preservative. (The ingredient list in our database contains a typing error – “kemel” for “kernel” – which we have corrected here.)

What to watch out for

No parfum is listed. Benzyl alcohol is a permitted preservative and can, rarely, also act as a fragrance allergen. BHT is an antioxidant that the SCCS has assessed as safe in cosmetics at the low concentrations used. People with a known oat (Avena) allergy should be cautious.

What users say

On LOOKFANTASTIC the 500 ml cream had an average of 4.65/5 from 2,225 reviews (checked 30 October 2026); on Wizaż it had only 2 ratings (4.5/5). Reviewers most often say it absorbs well, is not greasy or sticky and is gentle on dry, sensitive skin, including on children. One four-star review finds it quite thick and slow to rub in, and one two-star review reports itching and redness after using it on the face – a reminder that “sensitive skin” products do not suit everyone.

Who it may suit

People with dry or sensitive skin on the body (and, for some, the face) who want an inexpensive, fragrance-free daily moisturiser for the whole family. Those who dislike mineral oil or need a very light gel texture may prefer something else.
