Packaging and what the product is

The manufacturer’s photo shows a white 40 ml tube with pink accents from the Iwostin Rosacin line, labelled “łagodzący krem na noc” (soothing night cream), with horse chestnut extract and a prebiotic mentioned on the front. A tube is hygienic for sensitive skin because the cream is not exposed to fingers and air.

Ingredient analysis

The base combines light emollients (propylheptyl caprylate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, myristyl myristate, isohexadecane), vegetable and camelina oils, glycerin and inulin. Cyclopentasiloxane, cyclohexasiloxane, dimethicone and trimethylsiloxysilicate give a smooth, non-greasy finish.

Functional ingredients: Aesculus Hippocastanum (horse chestnut) seed extract, often used in products for skin with visible capillaries; Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a stable vitamin C derivative; Palmitoyl Tripeptide-8, a peptide used in soothing products; Alpha-Glucan Oligosaccharide, a prebiotic; Laminaria extract, PCA salts, sodium hyaluronate and allantoin for hydration and comfort.

What to watch out for

The cream has no parfum and no listed fragrance allergens – an advantage for reactive skin. It contains cyclic silicones D5 (cyclopentasiloxane) and D6 (cyclohexasiloxane), which are being restricted in EU cosmetics with transition periods (see the EU regulation section), so the formula may change. Preservation uses phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.

Rosacea is a skin condition: a cosmetic can support comfort, but persistent redness should be assessed by a dermatologist.
