Our review

A light, mattifying day cream for oily and combination skin with grape seed and hemp oils, rice starch, activated charcoal and niacinamide, scented only with essential oils. Reviews widely praise the matte, non-greasy finish and compatibility with make-up and SPF; the herbal smell and insufficient hydration for drier skin are the main drawbacks.

Packaging and what the product is

The sylveco.pl photo shows a 50 ml glass jar with a black screw lid, a white label covered in leaf drawings and a lime-yellow panel reading “duetus KREM NA DZIEŃ – nawilża + reguluje + matuje” (moisturises, regulates, mattifies), in front of a white carton with the same illustrations. The shop lists a glass jar with a PP lid; reviewers mention a wooden spatula in the box and a slightly grey cream. It is the day partner of the Duetus night cream, with a 3-month period after opening.

Ingredient analysis

Grape seed and hemp seed oils follow water, then rice starch – the main mattifying ingredient – and squalane. The emulsifier system (sorbitan stearate, sucrose cocoate, glyceryl stearate, cetearyl alcohol) is shared with the night cream. Burdock root extract, activated charcoal, niacinamide and vitamin E (tocopheryl acetate) are the featured actives.

There is no parfum; the scent comes from thyme, lavender, juniper and sweet orange essential oils, hence limonene and linalool on the list. It is preserved with benzyl alcohol and dehydroacetic acid, and the shop labels it vegan.

What to watch out for

Limonene and linalool are declared fragrance allergens, and essential oils such as thyme can irritate reactive skin. Rice starch and charcoal give a strong matte effect that may feel too dry for normal-to-dry skin. The cream contains no UV filters, so sunscreen is still needed in the morning.

What users say

The cream has 4.1/5 from 91 ratings on Wizaż and 4.9/5 from 46 reviews on sylveco.pl (both checked 30 Oct 2026). Most reviewers describe a light texture that absorbs at once, a clearly matte finish lasting for hours, no clogged pores and good layering under sunscreen or foundation; one sylveco.pl buyer liked that it “jednocześnie matuje i nie wysusza skóry” (“mattifies without drying the skin”).

Criticism focuses on the herbal smell, which some found unpleasant enough to stop using it (several say it is milder than the night cream). People with dry skin found it not moisturising enough, one found the matte effect too strong, one had it roll under make-up, and one reported tightness and breakouts when used with the Duetus gel. An older complaint about metal lids rusting refers to a previous packaging version.

Who it may suit

Oily and combination skin that wants a light, mattifying day cream under SPF or make-up. Dry or sensitive skin, and people who dislike herbal scents, may find it too drying or too fragrant.
