Our review

A light, fragranced moisturiser for normal, oily and combination skin with glycerin, panthenol and vitamin E. Cucumber extract is a supporting ingredient; the formula works as a basic, inexpensive daily cream.

Packaging and what the product is

The quoted photo shows an open white 100 ml Ziaja jar with a green cucumber-flower illustration and the description “cera tłusta, mieszana, normalna” (oily, combination and normal skin), with a soft white cream inside. It is a moisturising day cream from Ziaja's cucumber line. The same INCI was listed on the manufacturer's page for this barcode when we checked; jar sizes in this line have varied over time.

Ingredient analysis

After water come isopropyl palmitate (a fast-spreading emollient ester) and glycerin, followed by emulsifiers and thickeners (glyceryl stearate, cetyl alcohol, ceteareth-20, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, stearic acid, carbomer and a synthetic polymer). Dimethicone gives a smooth finish. Panthenol (provitamin B5) and tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) are useful supporting ingredients. Cucumber fruit extract appears mid-list, after propylene glycol. Phenoxyethanol with ethylhexylglycerin preserves it.

What to watch out for

The cream contains parfum with the declared allergens amyl cinnamal, linalool and linalyl acetate, so it is not ideal for fragrance-allergic skin. Isopropyl palmitate is the second ingredient; some people with acne-prone skin prefer to avoid rich isopropyl esters, although reactions are individual and the whole formula matters.
