A very high protection face fluid that pairs broad-spectrum filters with Thiamidol for people with pigmentation concerns. Light and matte, but it contains denatured alcohol and fragrance, which sensitive skin may not like.

Packaging and what the product is

Our database names this entry only “sunscreen”. The quoted photo shows the carton of Eucerin Sun Protection Pigment Control Sun Fluid SPF 50+: white and orange, with “Hyperpigmentation”, “Advanced spectral technology” and a “Patented Thiamidol” badge. It is a face fluid, sold in a small bottle (50 ml in most shops), meant for daily use on areas prone to dark spots.

Ingredient analysis

UV protection combines several filters: butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone), ethylhexyl triazone, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, which together cover UVB and UVA.

The distinctive active is isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol (Thiamidol), developed by the brand's owner as an inhibitor of tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in pigment formation; liquorice-derived Glycyrrhiza inflata root extract and glycyrrhetinic acid complete the anti-pigment theme. Alcohol denat. high on the list, silica, silica dimethyl silylate and tapioca starch explain the light, matte, quick-drying finish. Preservation uses phenoxyethanol with hydroxyacetophenone, and the list ends with parfum.

What to watch out for

Denatured alcohol in third place can sting or dry reactive or very dry skin, and the fragrance is a consideration for people with fragrance allergy. The filters are permitted in the EU under Annex VI. Visible effects on spots depend on consistent daily sun protection; sudden or changing pigmented marks should be checked by a dermatologist.

The UK retailer Superdrug shows an automated summary of its customer reviews rather than an average score (30.10.2026). According to it, buyers appreciate the light texture, lack of white cast and fast absorption, and some report less visible hyperpigmentation; drawbacks mentioned are the fragrance for very sensitive skin, perceived formula or scent changes, and counterfeits from unofficial sellers. We did not find a reliable average rating, so we do not give one.

Who it may suit

Normal, combination or oily skin with sun-induced spots or melasma-prone areas that needs a light daily SPF 50+. Very sensitive, dry or fragrance-allergic skin may prefer an alcohol- and fragrance-free fluid.
