The moltonbrown.com photo shows a clear, bright-blue plastic bottle with a polished silver screw cap embossed with the brand name, the Molton Brown London logo on the front and “Blissful Templetree – Bath & Shower Gel” in white at the bottom. It holds 300 ml (10 fl oz) and was listed at $37 on the US site (checked 1 Nov 2026). It can be used in the shower or as a bubble bath; the brand states it is vegan.

Ingredient analysis

Sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine and coco-glucoside form a rich-lathering base, with propylene glycol and glycerin as humectants. Laureth-7 citrate and PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil help solubilise the high fragrance load, polyquaternium-7 gives a slightly smoother after-feel, and PEG-150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate with PPG-2 hydroxyethyl cocamide thicken the gel. There are no featured plant extracts in this version.

Fragrance sits fifth, and seven allergens are declared: citronellol, coumarin, geraniol, hexyl cinnamal, hydroxycitronellal, limonene and linalool. Ethylhexyl salicylate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and diethylhexyl syringylidenemalonate protect the colour and fragrance from light in the bottle. Sodium benzoate is the preservative, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate a chelator, tocopherol an antioxidant, and Blue 1 with Red 33 give the blue shade.

What to watch out for

With seven declared fragrance allergens, including hydroxycitronellal and coumarin, this wash is a poor fit for people with fragrance allergy or reactive skin. SLES can feel drying on dry or eczema-prone skin, especially with hot water. Keep out of the eyes and rinse well. Because of the fragrance level, it is not ideal as a bubble bath for young children.

On moltonbrown.com the page showed an average of 4.8/5 from 543 reviews (checked 1 Nov 2026), on the brand’s own site. On Cult Beauty UK the 300 ml bottle had 4.3/5 from 7 reviews: buyers call the floral scent calming, long-lasting and their favourite from the brand, and one says it leaves skin soft. Less positive comments say it is “not too moisturising” and, apart from the scent, “just an ordinary shower gel”.

People who choose a shower gel mainly for its fragrance and enjoy rich floral-citrus-patchouli scents as an everyday treat. Those with fragrance allergies, sensitive or very dry skin, or who want a gentle, unscented cleanser should choose something else.
