Our review

A small, rich anti-ageing hand cream with shea butter, plant waxes, hyaluronic acid, a stable vitamin C ester, vitamin E, pea and seaweed extracts and carcinine. Pleasant and well formulated for dry hands, but strongly fragranced with synthetic musks, and we found no public user reviews of this current version.

Packaging and what the product is

The payot.com photo shows a slim, deep-purple tube standing on a glossy purple flip cap, printed with “PAYOT Paris”, “Suprême Absolu” and “Crème jeunesse mains / Youth hand cream”. The tube holds 30 ml and is listed at €19 on payot.com. The brand recommends applying it to the hands at any time of day.

Ingredient analysis

After water come ethylhexyl palmitate (a light emollient ester), butylene glycol and shea butter, followed by cetyl alcohol and glyceryl stearate as emulsifiers and maltodextrin. Jojoba esters, sunflower seed wax and acacia flower wax add a cushiony, protective film. This base explains the “melting, non-sticky, velvet finish” the brand describes.

The actives sit mid-list: pea extract, magnolia bark extract, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (an oil-soluble, more stable vitamin C derivative), tocopheryl acetate, the seaweeds Alaria esculenta and wakame (Undaria), orchid extract, sodium hyaluronate and a crosslinked hyaluronate, biosaccharide gum-1 and decarboxy carnosine HCl (carcinine, an antioxidant peptide-like molecule). Chlorphenesin, o-cymen-5-ol, sodium levulinate and sodium anisate preserve the formula. Fragrance includes parfum, the synthetic musks tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes and hexamethylindanopyran, and linalyl acetate.

What to watch out for

The cream is fragranced, so people with fragrance allergy or hand eczema should be cautious and patch test. Claims about fading brown spots (the brand reports −29% spot visibility after 56 days, 4 applications a day, on 22 volunteers) come from a small in-house test; for any spot-reducing effect, daily hand sunscreen matters at least as much. Changes in pigmentation that grow or look unusual should be checked by a doctor.

What users say

We did not find public user reviews of this Suprême Absolu Crème Mains Jeunesse: payot.com shows no review widget, and the parfumdreams page we checked had no reviews (checked 1 Nov 2026). Older Suprême hand creams with a different formula have reviews elsewhere, but they cannot be applied to this version. The only performance data available are the brand’s own consumer test figures (82% of 22 volunteers felt their hands looked younger and more even).

Who it may suit

Adults with dry or mature-looking hands who enjoy a richly textured, perfumed hand cream and do not mind a premium price per millilitre. People with sensitive or eczema-prone hands, or who prefer unscented products, should choose a fragrance-free alternative.
