Our review
A silicone-free, alcohol-based anti-frizz spray from the salon line Bonacure, with babassu oil, a light emollient and a conditioning agent. The formula is short and simple, but fragrance sits high in the list with six declared allergens, and we found no public user reviews to report.
Packaging and what the product is
The Schwarzkopf Professional photo shows a translucent frosted bottle with a lilac fine-mist spray cap, the lowercase “bc” logo and “Frizz Away All-Day Shield” printed in purple, plus a small “Clean Performance” line. The page does not state the volume in text.
It is a leave-in styling spray for coarse, thick or frizzy hair. The brand says it provides frizz control, protects against humidity for up to 48 hours and offers heat protection up to 210 °C.
Ingredient analysis
Alcohol denat. is the first ingredient, so the spray is mainly a quick-drying alcohol carrier, with a little isopropyl alcohol further down. Dicaprylyl carbonate is a light, dry-feeling emollient that gives slip and smoothness, and babassu oil (Orbignya oleifera) adds a thin oily film; the brand presents it as the range’s key ingredient. Behentrimonium chloride is a cationic conditioning agent that reduces static and flyaways; lactic acid adjusts the pH.
Parfum comes third, ahead of the oil, and is followed by linalool, citronellol, alpha-isomethyl ionone, geraniol, limonene and benzyl alcohol. Tocopherol and bisabolol are present in small amounts. There are no silicones, film-forming polymers or classic preservatives; the high alcohol content keeps the formula stable. Without silicones or polymers, the anti-humidity and heat-protection claims rest on the brand’s own testing, which is not published on the page.
What to watch out for
Six fragrance allergens are declared, so the spray is not a good fit for people with fragrance allergy. Leave-on alcohol sprays can feel drying on very porous or bleached hair if used heavily. Because the product is alcohol-based, it is flammable: let it dry before using hot tools and keep the mist away from the eyes.
The UK product page now redirects to the general Bonacure overview, while the Australian page still lists it, so availability may differ by country.
What users say
We could not find public user reviews of this specific spray: searches of Notino, Douglas, Lookfantastic, Escentual, Amazon and Australian/New Zealand salon shops returned listings for other Frizz Away products (shampoo, conditioner, treatment, smoothing oil) but no rated listing for the All-Day Shield (checked 1 Nov 2026). We therefore cannot say how it performs in everyday use; the 48-hour humidity and 210 °C claims come from the brand.
Who it may suit
People with frizzy, medium-to-thick hair who want a light, silicone-free finishing spray and do not mind a clearly fragranced product. Those with fragrance allergy or very dry, fragile hair, and anyone needing tested heat protection for frequent flat-ironing, may prefer to compare alternatives with published data.
