Our review

A popular, moisturiser-like SPF50+ face sunscreen combining several organic filters with a little titanium dioxide, aloe extract and a perfume with many declared allergens. Most reviewers love the comfortable texture; a minority report stinging, greasiness or reactions to the scent.

Packaging and what the product is

The photo on cosrx.com shows a white 50 ml squeeze tube with a black screw cap and a green label reading “Aloe Soothing Sun Cream” with “SPF50+ PA+++”. It is a daily face sunscreen with a light cream texture, marketed as soothing thanks to aloe.

Ingredient analysis

The UV system is a mix: ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate (second on the list, UVB), phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid (UVB), bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (broad spectrum), isoamyl p-methoxycinnamate (UVB) and titanium dioxide. Glycerin, propylene glycol and butylene glycol hydrate; cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone and dicaprylyl carbonate give slip, and alcohol appears mid-list.

Aloe arborescens leaf extract is declared at 1,100 ppm (0.11 %), alongside dipotassium glycyrrhizate. The formula is preserved with phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol, neutralised partly with triethanolamine, and perfumed: limonene, hexyl cinnamal, linalool, benzyl salicylate, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, citronellol, benzyl benzoate and citral are declared. This list corresponds to an older version; COSRX has revised its sunscreens over time.

What to watch out for

With fragrance and nine declared allergens, it is not the most neutral option for fragrance-sensitive or very reactive skin, despite the “soothing” name. Triethanolamine is a restricted ingredient in the EU (Annex III), and cyclopentasiloxane (D5) is covered by an EU REACH restriction on cyclic siloxanes. Sunscreen protection depends on applying enough and reapplying; avoid the eye area if it stings.

What users say

On LOOKFANTASTIC it averages 4.59/5 from 342 reviews (checked 31 Oct 2026). Many say it is their repeat-purchase sunscreen: hydrating, lightweight, not greasy, good under make-up, without a white cast and – for several – not stinging the eyes.

Critical reviews describe the opposite experience for some skins: too thick or greasy, make-up breaking down by midday, stinging or small rashes, and irritation attributed to the scent. One user saw an oily layer separating from the cream at the nozzle, and another felt a lot of product remained in the tube when it seemed empty.

Who it may suit

People with normal or combination skin who want a comfortable, moisturising daily face sunscreen and do not react to fragrance. Those with fragrance-sensitive or easily stung skin may prefer an unscented filter.
