Our review

A rich, tinted cream for very mature skin built on emollient esters, safflower oil, shea butter and jojoba esters, with hyaluronic acid, seaweed and orchid extracts, carcinine and vitamin C. It is comforting and gives a pinkish-apricot glow from mica-type pearl pigments, but it is costly, fragranced and has no public user reviews we could find.

Packaging and what the product is

The payot.com photo shows a squat, deep-purple jar with a glossy purple lid, labelled “PAYOT Paris”, “Suprême Absolu” and “Crème pro-âge fortifiante / Fortifying pro-age cream”. The jar holds 50 ml and is listed at €125 on payot.com. It is meant as a day and/or night cream for mature skin.

Ingredient analysis

Water is followed by ethylhexyl palmitate, butylene glycol, safflower seed oil, glycerin and shea butter, then pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate and jojoba esters, so this is a cushiony, nourishing texture. Cetearyl alcohol, cetearyl glucoside and sodium stearoyl glutamate emulsify; an acrylate copolymer and synthetic wax structure the cream. The marketing mentions ceramides, but we could not identify a ceramide under its INCI name in the published list.

The care ingredients are seaweeds Alaria esculenta and wakame, orchid and magnolia bark extracts, crosslinked and regular sodium hyaluronate, decarboxy carnosine HCl (carcinine) and the vitamin C ester ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, plus vitamin E. Synthetic fluorphlogopite with titanium dioxide and tin oxide create the pearly glow, and CI 19140 (yellow 5) and CI 14700 (red 4) give the apricot tint. Chlorphenesin, o-cymen-5-ol, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate preserve; parfum, the synthetic musks tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes and hexamethylindanopyran, linalyl acetate and pinene make up the scent.

What to watch out for

The fragrance and two colourants make this less suitable for very reactive skin or fragrance allergy; tartrazine (CI 19140) is a colour some people prefer to avoid. The tint and shimmer are visible, which some will like and others will not, especially under foundation. Brand results (+52.5% firmness, −16% wrinkles after 56 days) come from a 22-person in-house test and should be read as indicative only. There is no SPF, so daytime sun protection is still needed.

What users say

We did not find public user opinions of this cream: payot.com shows no reviews, and the parfumdreams product page invited visitors to “write the first review” (checked 1 Nov 2026). Without user feedback, we cannot say how it performs in everyday use; the brand’s consumer test (95% of 22 volunteers felt their skin was stronger and less fragile) is a manufacturer claim, not independent evidence.

Who it may suit

Adults with dry, thin-feeling, very mature skin who like rich textures, a subtle glow and a perfumed luxury cream, and who accept a high price. Those with oily or breakout-prone skin, fragrance or colourant sensitivities, or who want a clear, untinted moisturiser should look elsewhere.
