Our review

A moisturising SPF 50 face cream that combines five chemical UV filters with four forms of hyaluronic acid, panthenol and allantoin. It is a practical daily sunscreen-moisturiser and is well rated on the brand’s shop, but despite being aimed at sensitive skin it contains fragrance with limonene and linalool, and one reviewer found it heavy for combination skin.

Packaging and what the product is

The hdrey.com photo shows a soft mint-turquoise squeeze tube standing on its cap, with a clear pump-style top and “HDRÈY” and “SPF 50 HA” printed vertically in dark grey. The tube holds 50 ml. It is designed as the last step of the morning routine and, according to the brand, works under make-up.

Ingredient analysis

The UV protection comes from octocrylene, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone), polysilicone-15, ethylhexyl salicylate and phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid (a water-soluble UVB filter). Octocrylene helps stabilise avobenzone, which covers long-wave UVA. The filters sit in a light emulsion built with glyceryl stearate citrate, potassium cetyl phosphate, cetearyl alcohol, coco-caprylate/caprate, isoamyl laurate and a little dimethicone.

For care, glycerin and pentylene glycol are joined by sodium hyaluronate, hydrolysed and crosslinked hyaluronate and sodium acetylated hyaluronate, plus panthenol, allantoin, Poria cocos and Phragmites karka extracts and tocopherol. Acacia gum, carrageenan, xanthan and hydroxypropyl starch phosphate adjust texture. Hydroxyacetophenone, phenethyl alcohol, sodium benzoate and ethylhexylglycerin preserve; parfum with limonene and linalool comes last.

What to watch out for

The product is marketed for sensitive skin but contains fragrance and the allergens limonene and linalool, so people with fragrance allergy should be careful. Octocrylene is permitted in the EU up to 10% in sunscreens and is a known, though uncommon, contact allergen, particularly in people sensitised to ketoprofen. Chemical filters can sting if they get into the eyes. As with any sunscreen, protection depends on applying enough (about a teaspoon for face and neck) and reapplying during long sun exposure.

On hdrey.com the cream had an average of 4.8/5 from 30 reviews: 27 five-star, 1 four-star and 2 three-star (checked 1 Nov 2026); this is the brand’s own shop. Short reviews describe it as light to apply and good under foundation, and one calls it the best she has used. A three-star review found it a bit too heavy for combination skin. We did not find a substantial independent rating elsewhere.

Who it may suit

Adults with normal to dry skin who want a moisturising daily SPF 50 that layers under make-up. People with very oily skin, fragrance sensitivity or a known octocrylene allergy may prefer a lighter, fragrance-free or mineral-filter sunscreen.
