Our review
A conventional leave-in combing cream from the Elvive Glycolic Gloss line, built on fatty alcohols, mineral oil and conditioning polymers. Glycolic acid is present, but far down the list – the cream mainly detangles and smooths.

Packaging and what the product is
The quoted photo shows a 200 ml pink squeeze bottle with a flip-top cap, labelled in English and Arabic as a “Gloss Combing Cream” and “leave-in”. The barcode in our database is registered for Saudi Arabia, so this is the version sold in the Middle East; the Glycolic Gloss products sold in Europe (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in serum) have different formulas.
It is meant to be applied to damp, towel-dried hair and not rinsed out, to make combing easier and add shine.
Ingredient analysis
The base is classic for a combing cream: water, cetearyl alcohol (a fatty alcohol that thickens and softens), mineral oil (paraffinum liquidum) for slip and shine, and cationic conditioners – guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, behentrimonium chloride and cetrimonium chloride – which cling to the hair surface and reduce static and tangling. Amodimethicone, a conditioning silicone that deposits mainly on damaged areas, adds smoothness.
Glycolic acid and salicylic acid, which give the line its name, appear only after the fragrance allergens near the end of the list. That suggests low amounts used for pH and marketing story rather than an exfoliating effect. Ethylhexyl salicylate is a UV-absorbing ingredient; in hair care it is usually there to protect the product or hair colour, not as sun protection for you.
What to watch out for
The cream is fragranced and lists several fragrance allergens: hydroxycitronellal, limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol, citronellol and hexyl cinnamal. People with a diagnosed fragrance allergy should check them against their patch-test results. Mineral oil and amodimethicone can build up on fine hair if the cream is used generously every day; a clarifying wash now and then helps.
What users say
We found very few independent reviews of this specific combing cream – it is mainly listed by Middle East pharmacies and supermarkets without user ratings. Opinions on the wider Glycolic Gloss line usually praise added shine and easier detangling, but we cannot transfer them to this formula with confidence, so we draw no conclusions about it.
Who it may suit
People with medium to thick, dry or frizzy hair who want an inexpensive leave-in for detangling and shine and who tolerate fragrance. Those with very fine hair may prefer a lighter spray, and anyone avoiding mineral oil or silicones should look elsewhere.
