Our review

A light SPF 50+ fluid with a broad mix of modern UV filters; praised for not leaving a white cast, criticised for eye stinging and a watery texture – the alcohol denat. high on the list helps explain both.

Packaging and what the product is

Anthelios XL Ultra-léger is a 50 ml face sunscreen fluid with SPF 50+. On La Roche-Posay’s Polish site the current face fluids belong to the newer Anthelios UVMune 400 range, so this formula may be an earlier version; check the label of the product you buy. We did not find an official image of this exact version, so no photo is shown.

Ingredient analysis

The UV protection comes from several organic filters regulated in Annex VI of the EU Cosmetics Regulation: butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane (avobenzone), octocrylene, drometrizole trisiloxane, ethylhexyl triazone, bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine and terephthalylidene dicamphor sulfonic acid – a combination covering both UVB and UVA.

Alcohol denat. in third place and light esters (diisopropyl sebacate, isononyl isononanoate, C12-15 alkyl benzoate) make the fluid thin and quick-drying; silica, corn starch and perlite help reduce shine.

What to watch out for

Alcohol near the top of the list can sting, especially around the eyes. Octocrylene is a permitted filter but some people are sensitive to it. No parfum is listed.

What users say

On Wizaż the fluid has 4.4/5 from 111 reviews, with 70% saying they would buy it again (checked 30 October 2026). Users most often praise the light feel, fast absorption and no white cast, and many wear it under make-up. Common complaints: the very runny texture, stinging of the eyes, an alcohol smell on application, shine after a few hours for some, dryness on very dry skin, and the price.

Who it may suit

Normal to combination skin that wants a thin, non-whitening high-SPF fluid. People with very dry or very sensitive skin, or who are prone to eye stinging, may prefer an alcohol-free cream.
